Moringa Capsule Review

Moringa Capsule Review: A Must Watch Before You Buy Moringa Capsules!

Moringa Capsule Review (The Video is Below)

There is a huge variation in quality of Moringa products available today. I have said this before, but today you are going to see firsthand what this looks like. Many capsules have additives, some are organic, some are vegan, and some don’t even contain dried Moringa leaf powder at all! I’m serious!

Moringa Capsule Review Methodology:

For this Moringa capsule review I assumed for a moment that I had just heard about Moringa for the first time. Like many people would, I went to Amazon.com and searched for Moringa capsules. From the long list of search results, I purchased 7 products that where high ranking on the search and also had over one hundred reviews that were 4 star or higher. These are products that would look very attractive to a potential buyer! To round out the review, I also added to the list our own Moringa capsules sold here at A Healthy Leaf.

Upon receiving the products, I took pictures of all bottles for reference. Each bottle was then opened, and one capsule was removed. The capsules were carefully pulled apart and the contents poured onto a white plate. In total, eight samples are compared in this review.

My goal is to share this information with you so you can be educated should you decide to purchase Moringa capsules. Even though I have a product in the review, I have tried to be as objective as possible. In fact, I was compelled to write this review as some information–what Moringa leaf extract powder is–couldn’t be found when searching online. This is information people should know!

Following the video review you will find additional information presented on each of the 8 Moringa capsules.

Please leave questions and comments below and SHARE if you find this helpful!

Notes: There appears to have been some misuse of the review system on Amazon. It appears like the company has corrected the issue. The issue was explained by a customer and can be found on Amazon.

I haven’t used the product long enough to know if it works. But it arrived with an offer for 2 bottles more or shampoo for free in exchange for a 5 star review. I rely on reviews quite often when I buy stuff so I really dislike this abuse of the review system.

Notes: They state in their About Video that “our comprehensive formulations, no unnecessary ingredients and world class shipping make us the best in market”.  However, both calcium carbonate and magnesium stearate are added to their powder. These are referred to as excipients–the former is used as a bulk filer or diluent, and the latter is used as a “flow agent”.

Dr. Mercola states

In the U.S. many supplement makers are adding “flow agents” into their capsules. Their only purpose is to keep ingredients from sticking to equipment during mixing and compression. They make manufacturing faster and easier, but it’s not impossible to produce the final product without them. Not using them simply adds to manufacturing costs and final sales price of the product, but there is clearly no reason this ingredient is added for consumer benefit.

  1. Hi Mark
This is the moringa warrior in Costa Mesa California
Do you grow moringa? If so why not sell it as capsules rather than import it or perhaps I’m mistaken?
    I appreciate your honestly.
    Darryl Killion

  2. Hi Mark, that was a great review. I was looking for information on Triphala which I found through Organic India when I accidentally found out about Moringa. After researching I was quite confused but then by luck it led me to your review. I have now made a purchase. I intend taking both on a daily basis as a means of restoring my overall health which has been suffering. I am not expecting magical results but one has to start somewhere after a life of smoking, partying and booze. I will keep you posted on how I go. Thanks again for explaining Moringa so concisely. I was nearly about to order Organic India’s Moringa instead. That would have been a big mistake hahaha.. 🙂

    1. Wendy, you are right. Compared to drying in direct sunlight shade drying Moringa leaves preserves more nutrients. With shade drying, however, it is difficult to achieve consistent results as some seasons tend to have high humidity. Under high relative humidity the shade drying process takes much longer is susceptible to contamination/mold etc… Our powder comes from Moringa leaves that are dried in a mechanical drying machine (out of direct sunlight). The mechanical dryer ensures a shorter drying time and produces high quality results year round.

  3. I’m wondering about your drying system. I read you should get 100% USDA Certified organic Moringa from countries closest to the Equator and that the Moringa should always be air dried.

    1. Mb, thanks for your interest in Moringa. While I certainly can’t give medical advice I haven’t seen or heard any reports that state Moringa wouldn’t be safe in these applications.

  4. Hi can this products be found in health food or whole food stores and thanks for The information sincerely Beverly

    1. Beverly,

Hi Mark! Thanks for providing this awesome review, and also for publishing your heavy metals test results for lead.

I am interested in knowing the test results for cadmium, mercury and arsenic as well. Could you post those or email them to me? I want to double my daily dose, and just want to feel confident I’m not exceeding any daily limits on heavy metals. Thanks!

    1. Melissa,

Latest Certificate of Analysis of the dry leaf powder shows Cadnium < 0.2ppm, Mercury < 0.03 ppm, and arsenic at less that <0.5 ppm. I hope that helps! Thanks, Mark

    1. Hello,

Ireland is listed as the “Republic of Ireland” in the drop-down list of countries. Sorry for the confusion! Let me know if you have any other questions.
      Thanks so much,
      -Mark

    1. We really recommend our own Moringa Capsules which you can purchase on the website or by calling 858-375-6340. We don’t sell on Amazon but do provide low cost or free shipping (on 3 or more bottles) and you can reach us on the phone if you have questions about the product. We do like to have a connection with our customers! We ship USPS first class or priority mail which generally gets to the destination 2-4 business days after placing the order. Hope to hear from you soon.

  6. I would love it if you could recommend a certain brand of Moringa. I don’t have a thyroid and thought this could be helpful to me. I really appreciate all of your research on this. Thanks so much. Jill Alex from Easley SC

  7. I had used Organic India before your product. I am horrified that it is loaded with lead. I will now have to rethink using their other products.

    1. Donna, I don’t really know what the actual lead levels are in the Organic India Moringa Capsules. That being said, they have to be above ~ 0.5ppm though to require the warning on their label. It actually has to due with the daily expose to lead and the serving size etc… Would be interesting to find out how high the levels of lead actually are. By way of comparison Moringa capsules from A Healthy Leaf have been tested to have 0.0002ppm or 0.2 parts per billion of lead. That is around 1000 times less than even California’s strict limit!
